Welcome to the Theta blog!

Welcome to the Theta Phi blog!

This blog has been created to allow us to share what's been going on in our lives and communicate with each other in an open forum.

There are two ways you can add news or comments to the blog:

• You can email your comments (and photos) directly to me (azpook@gmail.com).

• You can also add news (but not photos) by clicking on "comments" at the bottom of each posting.  Be sure to check for comments left by others!

Whenever there is a new posting, I'll send word out to everyone.

Spread the word! Please pass this site along to any Theta sisters you may be in touch with.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yours in Theta,

Jeanne Anderson Millman ('54)

Thanks to Jeanne's daughter, Rebecca, for sharing the news of her mother's passing.

I wanted to let you know that my mom also passed away this year.  (I think she was the eldest alum at a few of the luncheons I attended with her.)

I'll attach a few photos here, just in case it's of interest to see the high jinks the kids in the 50s were getting up to.

My mom talked about her days at the Theta Phi sorority house with tremendous fondness.  They were memories that she clearly cherished and I know she was sorry to miss the luncheons in these last years when her health didn't permit attending.

Please pass the news along if there is anyone left who remembers her!

All the best,
Rebecca Millman

WE MOURN THE PASSING OF MARIE SABIA MARTIN ('61)

Janice Oehler has shared the sad news that our Theta sister, Maria Sabia Martin (‘61), has passed away. Janice received the news from RoseMarie Strippoli (better known as Strip) (‘65), who had received a call from Linda Spiro Lander’s (‘61) daughter, Jenny. Linda and Marie had been very close over the years and Jenny stayed close with Marie after Linda passed away.  Marie was an avid Theta luncheon goer and Janice said that she didn't think Marie missed any of them. Marie will be missed by all who knew her at New Paltz and all who got to know her at the luncheons over the years.
